Thursday With Friends | Niki Sepsas | A World of Wonders: The ‘Ancient’ and the ‘New’

Since at least the second century before Christ, scholars, writers, travelers, and artists have gazed in wonder at the crowning monuments of human achievement of ancient time that were built by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern empires of their day with little more than crude tools and manual labor. How did seven of them come to be known as the “Wonders of the Ancient World?” And what led to a global declaration event in 2007 that resulted in more than 600 million votes cast to select what travelers today felt should be the “New 7 Wonders of the World”?

This presentation by tour guide and freelance writer Niki Sepsas will attempt to answer many of the questions regarding these manmade wonders around our planet. This visual journey will take us around the globe to visit these 14 monuments and examine their historic and cultural importance to our world.

An optional lunch will be offered for $10. Regardless of whether you're eating or not, please register at the link below.
